If you are a swim school owner, swimming teacher, open water coach, pool operator or an aquatics / lifesaving / first aid / pool plant tutor, STA’s first virtual international conference will provide an amazing opportunity for you to hear from an array of top scientists, award-winning coaches and swimmers, and leading experts – all from the comfort of your home.
A multitude of learned content across several aquatic strands has been planned, covering swimming, open water swimming, wellbeing, inclusion and diversity, lifesaving, first aid, marketing/business and pool plant operations, giving you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and learn about new and informative subjects. Plus, with the conference being virtual, all sessions will be available to access for 30 days after the event, which means you can playback your favourite speakers and catch-up on any clashed seminars – you won’t miss out on anything!
As a taster for the conference, this year’s speakers from the world of aquatics will include Wayne Goldsmith, Jo Wilson, Aquabatix, Waterphobia and Mermaids UK. The line-up also includes new sessions from ukactive, Autism Swim, Level Water, the Sepsis Trust and Big Wave Media.
We will also be welcoming many new names to the speaker line-up this year, including Professor Rachel Chalmers from Public Health Wales, Dr Alexandra Barnett, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Paula Parker, a BSL tutor.
There will also be a chance to hear from Cath Pendleton, a Welsh ice swimmer who made history in 2020 by becoming the first person to swim an Ice Mile inside the polar Antarctic Circle (which was later featured in a BBC documentary), and Eden Elgeti, who was recently involved in an award-winning film that showcased her journey as a transgender open water swimmer and mental health advocate.
Plus, lots, lots more, including an informative session with LGBT Foundation … and via our new state-of-the-art virtual platform, there will be opportunities to network, chat online with our exhibitors and benefit from exclusive offers!
We hope to see you here virtually on Saturday 23rd October 2021 – and if you are unable to join us, you can still register and playback all the sessions for up to 30 days after the event!
